حَدَّثَنَا خَلَفُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَعْشَرٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " لَيَدَعَنَّ النَّاسُ فَخْرَهُمْ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ، أَوْ لَيَكُونَنَّ أَبْغَضَ إِلَى اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ مِنَ الْخَنَافِسِ " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: People should stop boasting about their ancestors, otherwise in the sight of Allah they will be more insignificant than a dung beetle.
