حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: " إِنَّ السَّنَةَ لَيْسَ بِأَنْ لَا يَكُونَ فِيهَا مَطَرٌ، وَلَكِنَّ السَّنَةَ أَنْ تُمْطِرَ السَّمَاءُ، وَلَا تُنْبِتَ الْأَرْضُ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: Famine is not that there is no rainfall; famine is that rain falls abundantly from the sky but nothing grows from the earth.
