حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ هُبَيْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي تَمِيمٍ الْجَيْشَانِيِّ، قَالَ: كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ هُرْمُزْ (١) ، مَوْلًى مِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ، يُذْكَرُ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " مَنْ تَبِعَ جَنَازَةً فَحَمَلَ مِنْ عُلُوِّهَا، وَحَثَا (٢) فِي قَبْرِهَا، وَقَعَدَ حَتَّى يُؤْذَنَ لَهُ، آبَ بِقِيرَاطَيْنِ مِنَ الْأَجْرِ، كُلُّ قِيرَاطٍ مِثْلُ أُحُدٍ " (٣)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Whoever participates in a funeral, carries the bier, throws soil into the grave, and waits until the burial is completed, will receive a reward equal to two qirats, each of which is as great as Mount Uhud.
