Original Arabic
وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِذَا مَا قَامَ أَحَدُكُمْ لِلنَّاسِ،، ، فَلْيُخَفِّفِ الصَّلَاةَ، فَإِنَّ فِيهِمُ الْكَبِيرَ وَفِيهِمُ الضَّعِيفَ وَفِيهِمُ السَّقِيمَ، وَإِذَا قَامَ وَحْدَهُ فَلْيُطِلْ صَلَاتَهُ مَا شَاءَ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
And the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: When you lead the prayer as an imam, then make the prayer light, because among the worshippers are the elderly, the weak, and the sick. However, when you pray alone, then make it as long as you wish.
