Original Arabic
وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " دَخَلَتِ النَّارَ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ جَرَّاءِ هِرَّةٍ لَهَا - أَوْ هِرٍّ (١) - رَبَطَتْهَا، فَلَا هِيَ أَطْعَمَتْهَا، وَلَا هِيَ أَرْسَلَتْهَا تُرَمِّمُ مِنْ خَشَاشِ الْأَرْضِ حَتَّى مَاتَتْ هَزْلًا " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
And the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: A woman entered Hell because of a cat which she had tied up; she neither fed it nor gave it water, nor did she let it go so that it could eat the insects of the earth by itself.
