Original Arabic
وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَتَّخِذُ عِنْدَكَ عَهْدًا لَنْ تُخْلِفَنِيهِ، إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ، فَأَيُّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ آذَيْتُهُ، أَوْ شَتَمْتُهُ، أَوْ جَلَدْتُهُ، أَوْ لَعَنْتُهُ، فَاجْعَلْهَا لَهُ صَلَاةً وَزَكَاةً وَقُرْبَةً تُقَرِّبُهُ بِهَا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
And the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said: O Allah, I seek from You a promise which You will never break with me, that if I, being human, have caused any harm to a Muslim, or spoken harshly to him, or struck him, or cursed him, then make it for him a source of mercy, purification, and a means of nearness to You on the Day of Resurrection.
