Original Arabic
وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " الصِّيَامُ جُنَّةٌ، فَإِذَا كَانَ أَحَدُكُمْ يَوْمًا صَائِمًا، فَلَا يَجْهَلْ، وَلَا يَرْفُثْ، فَإِنِ امْرُؤٌ قَاتَلَهُ أَوْ شَتَمَهُ، فَلْيَقُلْ: إِنِّي صَائِمٌ، إِنِّي صَائِمٌ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
And the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said: Fasting is a shield. When any one of you wakes up in the morning in a state of fasting, he should not utter any foolish or ignorant words. Rather, if someone fights with him or abuses him, he should simply say: I am fasting.
