حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ، أَخْبَرَنِي عِيَاضُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي سَرْحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَامَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْطُبُ النَّاسَ، فَذَكَرَ الْإِيمَانَ بِاللهِ، وَالْجِهَادَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ، مِنْ أَفْضَلِ الْأَعْمَالِ عِنْدَ اللهِ، قَالَ: فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ قُتِلْتُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ وَأَنَا صَابِرٌ مُحْتَسِبٌ، مُقْبِلٌ (٢) غَيْرَ مُدْبِرٍ، كَفَّرَ اللهُ عَنِّي، ، خَطَايَايَ؟ قَالَ: " نَعَمْ "، قَالَ: " فَكَيْفَ قُلْتَ؟ " قَالَ: فَرَدَّ عَلَيْهِ الْقَوْلَ كَمَا قَالَ، قَالَ: " نَعَمْ "، قَالَ: " فَكَيْفَ قُلْتَ؟ " قَالَ: فَرَدَّ عَلَيْهِ الْقَوْلَ أَيْضًا، قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ قُتِلْتُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ صَابِرًا مُحْتَسِبًا، مُقْبِلًا غَيْرَ مُدْبِرٍ، كَفَّرَ اللهُ عَنِّي خَطَايَايَ؟ قَالَ: " نَعَمْ، إِلَّا الدَّيْنَ، فَإِنَّ جِبْرِيلَ سَارَّنِي بِذَلِكَ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that one day the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) stood before the people to deliver a sermon. In it, he declared faith in Allah and striving in the path of Allah (jihad fi sabilillah) among the most virtuous deeds in the sight of Allah. A man stood up and said, "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), tell me, if I am martyred in the path of Allah, I remain steadfast in my religion, and I participate in jihad with the intention of reward, I advance forward and do not turn my back, will Allah forgive my sins?" The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) replied, "Yes." He asked the same question three times, and the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) gave the same answer each time. The last time, the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Except for debt, for this has just now been revealed to me in my ear by Jibreel (peace be upon him)."
