Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ الْبُرْسَانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ بُرْقَانَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ يَزِيدَ بْنَ الْأَصَمِّ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " مَا أَخْشَى عَلَيْكُمُ الْفَقْرَ، وَلَكِنْ أَخْشَى عَلَيْكُمُ التَّكَاثُرَ، وَمَا أَخْشَى عَلَيْكُمُ الْخَطَأَ، وَلَكِنْ أَخْشَى عَلَيْكُمُ الْعَمْدَ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: I do not fear poverty and hunger for you, rather I fear abundance of wealth for you. And I do not fear mistakes for you, rather I fear that you will deliberately (become involved in sins).
