Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: " إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو إِنْ طَالَ بِي عُمُرٌ أَنْ أَلْقَى عِيسَى ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ، فَإِنْ عَجِلَ بِي مَوْتٌ، فَمَنْ لَقِيَهُ مِنْكُمْ فَلْيُقْرِئْهُ مِنِّي السَّلَامَ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: I hope that if my life is prolonged, I will meet Isa (peace be upon him), but the message of my departure will come first. So whoever among you meets him, convey my greetings to him.
