حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، سَمِعْتُ عَاصِمَ بْنَ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ، مِنْ آلِ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عُبَيْدٍ، مَوْلًى لِأَبِي رُهْمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ: أَنَّهُ لَقِيَ امْرَأَةً، فَوَجَدَ مِنْهَا رِيحَ إِعْصَارٍ (٤)، ، طَيِّبَةً، فَقَالَ لَهَا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ: الْمَسْجِدَ تُرِيدِينَ؟ قَالَتْ: نَعَمْ. قَالَ: وَلَهُ تَطَيَّبْتِ؟ قَالَتْ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " مَا مِنَ امْرَأَةٍ تَطَيَّبَتْ لِلْمَسْجِدِ فَيَقْبَلُ اللهُ لَهَا صَلَاةً حَتَّى تَغْتَسِلَ مِنْهُ اغْتِسَالَهَا مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ " فَاذْهَبِي فَاغْتَسِلِي (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from the freed slave of Abu Ruhm that once Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) encountered a woman who had applied perfume. He asked her, "Are you intending to go to the mosque?" She replied, "Yes." He asked, "Is it for this reason that you have applied perfume?" She replied, "Yes!" He said, "The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'Any woman who leaves her house having applied perfume with the intention of going to the mosque, Allah does not accept her prayer until she returns home and washes it off in the manner of washing after impurity.' Therefore, go and wash it off."
