حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ أُكَيْمَةَ، يُحَدِّثُ، ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى صَلَاةً جَهَرَ فِيهَا بِالْقِرَاءَةِ، ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ عَلَى النَّاسِ بَعْدَمَا سَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: " هَلْ قَرَأَ مِنْكُمْ أَحَدٌ مَعِي آنِفًا؟ " قَالُوا: نَعَمْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، قَالَ: " إِنِّي أَقُولُ: مَا لِي أُنَازَعُ الْقُرْآنَ؟ " (١) فَانْتَهَى النَّاسُ عَنِ الْقِرَاءَةِ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِيمَا يَجْهَرُ بِهِ مِنَ الْقِرَاءَةِ، حِينَ سَمِعُوا ذَلِكَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) led us in a prayer. After completing the prayer, the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) asked, "Did any of you recite (Qur'an) with me?" The people said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah!" The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said, "That is why I was wondering why there was a dispute with me in the Qur'an." After that, people stopped reciting behind the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) in the audible prayers.
