حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، وَعَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " لَيْسَ الشَّدِيدُ بِالصُّرَعَةِ " قَالُوا: فَمَنِ الشَّدِيدُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ: " الَّذِي يَمْلِكُ نَفْسَهُ عِنْدَ الْغَضَبِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: "The strong man is not the one who overcomes others." The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked, "O Messenger of Allah, then who is the strong man?" The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: "The real strong man is the one who controls himself at the time of anger."
