Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Umar Farooq (may Allah be pleased with him) was going for Hajj, and on the way to Makkah Mukarramah, a strong wind overtook the people. The people became worried because of it. Umar Farooq (may Allah be pleased with him) said to his companions, "Who among you will narrate to us a hadith regarding the wind?" No one gave him any answer. I found out that Umar Farooq (may Allah be pleased with him) had asked the people about a hadith of this nature, so I hastened my mount until I reached him and said, "O Commander of the Faithful! I have learned that you have asked about a hadith regarding the wind. I heard the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) say: 'The wind, that is, the strong wind, is a mercy from Allah. Sometimes it brings mercy and sometimes it brings hardship. When you see it, do not speak ill of it, but rather ask Allah for its good and seek refuge with Allah from its evil.'"
