حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي زِيَادٍ، حَدَّثَنِي مَنْ، سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، يَقُولُ: أَوْصَانِي خَلِيلِي بِثَلَاثٍ، وَنَهَانِي عَنْ ثَلَاثٍ: " أَوْصَانِي بِالْوِتْرِ قَبْلَ النَّوْمِ، وَصِيَامِ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ، وَرَكْعَتَيِ الضُّحَى "، قَالَ: " وَنَهَانِي عَنِ الِالْتِفَاتِ، وَإِقْعَاءٍ كَإِقْعَاءِ الْقِرْدِ، وَنَقْرٍ كَنَقْرِ الدِّيكِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that my beloved friend (ﷺ) advised me regarding three things and forbade me from three things. The advice was: (1) to perform Witr prayer before sleeping, (2) to fast three days in every month, (3) and to perform two units of Duha (forenoon) prayer. And the prohibitions were: looking around to the right and left during prayer, sitting like a monkey, and pecking like a rooster.
