حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو (١) مُعَاوِيَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنَّ أَفْضَلَ الصَّدَقَةِ مَا تَرَكَ غِنًى " " تَقُولُ امْرَأَتُكَ: أَطْعِمْنِي، وَإِلَّا فَطَلِّقْنِي، وَيَقُولُ خَادِمُكَ: أَطْعِمْنِي، وَإِلَّا فَبِعْنِي، وَيَقُولُ وَلَدُكَ: إِلَى مَنْ تَكِلُنِي "، قَالُوا: يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، هَذَا شَيْءٌ قَالَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، أَمْ هَذَا مِنْ كِيسِكَ؟ قَالَ: " بَلْ هَذَا مِنْ كِيسِي " (٢)، ، . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: The best charity is that which leaves you with some wealth (do not spend all your wealth). Your wife says, "Feed me or divorce me." The servant says, "Feed me or sell me to someone else." The children say, "In whose care are you leaving us?" People asked, "O Abu Huraira! Are these last sentences also from the Holy Prophet (ﷺ), or are they from your own pouch?" He replied, "No! Rather, they are from my own pouch."
