It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) led us in prayer, and after the prayer, he turned towards us and sat down and said: A man was driving a bull, and on the way, he mounted it and started beating it. The bull, by the power of Allah, spoke and said: We have not been created for this purpose; we have been created for plowing. The people said: Glory be to Allah! Do bulls ever speak? The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: But I, Abu Bakr, and Umar believe in this, though both of them were not present in that gathering. Then he said: A man was among his flock of goats when a wolf attacked the flock and snatched away a goat. The man ran after the wolf and, after going some distance, caught up with it and rescued his goat. Seeing this, the wolf, by the power of Allah, spoke and said: O so-and-so! Today you have rescued this goat from me, but who will rescue it on the day when I will have no shepherd except myself? The people said: Glory be to Allah! Does a wolf also speak? The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: But I, Abu Bakr, and Umar believe in this, though both of them were not present in that gathering.
