حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ: اللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِمُحَمَّدٍ وَحْدَنَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " لَقَدْ حَجَبْتَهَا عَنْ نَاسٍ كَثِيرٍ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Amr, may Allah be pleased with him, that a man began to supplicate: "O Allah, forgive only me and Muhammad (peace be upon him)." The Noble Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "You have concealed this supplication from many people."
