Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) in Makkah Mukarramah in the year of the conquest of Makkah saying: Allah and His Messenger have declared the sale of alcohol, carrion, and swine to be forbidden. Someone asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Tell us, what is the ruling regarding the fat of carrion? For it is applied to ships and skins, and people use it to light lamps." The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) replied: "No, it is forbidden." Then he said: "May Allah curse the Jews! When Allah forbade them the fat, they melted it, beautified it, sold it, and consumed its price."
