حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَجَدَ تَحْتَ جَنْبِهِ تَمْرَةً مِنَ (١) اللَّيْلِ، فَأَكَلَهَا، فَلَمْ يَنَمْ تِلْكَ اللَّيْلَةَ، فَقَالَ بَعْضُ نِسَائِهِ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَرِقْتَ الْبَارِحَةَ؟ قَالَ (٢) : " إِنِّي وَجَدْتُ تَحْتَ جَنْبِي تَمْرَةً، فَأَكَلْتُهَا، وَكَانَ عِنْدَنَا تَمْرٌ مِنْ تَمْرِ الصَّدَقَةِ، فَخَشِيتُ أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنْهُ " (٣)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) found a date under his side. The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) ate it, then in the last part of the night he became restless, upon which the Noble Prophet’s (ﷺ) noble wife became anxious. The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) comforted her, saying: "I found a date under my side which I ate. Now I fear that it might have been a date of charity."
