Original Arabic
قَالَ: قَرَأْتُ عَلَى أَبِي: حَدَّثَنَا (١) حَمَّادُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْخَيَّاطُ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: " كُنَّا إِذَا اشْتَرَيْنَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ طَعَامًا جُزَافًا، مُنِعْنَا أَنْ نَبِيعَهُ حَتَّى نُؤْوِيَهُ (٢) إِلَى رِحَالِنَا " (٣)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that during the blessed era of the Noble Prophet (ﷺ), we used to buy and sell grain by estimation, so the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) forbade us from selling it in this manner until it was taken to our own tents.
