Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنِ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " مَنْ أَعْتَقَ شِرْكًا لَهُ (٣) فِي، ، مَمْلُوكٍ قُوِّمَ عَلَيْهِ فِي مَالِهِ، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ مَالٌ، عَتَقَ مِنْهُ مَا عَتَقَ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Whoever frees his share of a jointly owned slave, the value of the slave will be assessed. If he does not have wealth, then only the portion he has freed will remain freed."
