Wasi' bin Hibban (may Allah have mercy on him) says that he asked Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) about how the prayer of the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) was. Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) mentioned saying the takbeer every time he bowed and raised his head, and mentioned saying "As-salamu alaikum wa rahmatullah" to the right side and "As-salamu alaikum wa rahmatullah" to the left side.
