Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) would mount his ride, he would say "Allahu Akbar" three times, then recite this supplication: "Glory be to Him Who has subjected this (ride) to us, and we could not have subdued it (by ourselves), and surely to our Lord we are returning." Then he would supplicate: "O Allah, I ask You for goodness, piety, and deeds that please You in this journey of mine. O Allah, make this journey easy for us and fold up the distances of the land for us. O Allah, You are my companion in the journey and the successor over my family. O Allah, accompany us in the journey and be the guardian of our family in our absence." And when he would return home, he would recite this supplication: "We return, repenting, if Allah wills, worshipping our Lord and praising Him."
