Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُحَدِّثُ قَالَ: " بَيْنَا أَنَا نَائِمٌ رَأَيْتُنِي أُتِيتُ بِقَدَحِ [لَبَنٍ] (٣) ، فَشَرِبْتُ مِنْهُ، حَتَّى إِنِّي أَرَى الرِّيَّ يَخْرُجُ في أَطْرَافِي، ثُمَّ أَعْطَيْتُ فَضْلِي عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ " فَقَالُوا: فَمَا أَوَّلْتَ ذَلِكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ: " الْعِلْمُ " (٤)،
Translation
English translation
And I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying: Once, in a dream, a bowl of milk was brought to me. I drank from it so much that milk began to flow from my fingernails. Then I gave the remainder to Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). Someone asked, "O Messenger of Allah! What interpretation did you give to this?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Knowledge."
