حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَنْظَلَةُ، سَمِعْتُ عِكْرِمَةَ بْنَ خَالِدٍ، يُحَدِّثُ طَاوُسًا، قَالَ: إِنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ: لِعَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ: أَلَا تَغْزُو؟ قَالَ: إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " إِنَّ الْإِسْلَامَ بُنِيَ عَلَى خَمْسٍ: شَهَادَةُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ (٣) ، وَإِقَامُ الصَّلَاةِ، وَإِيتَاءُ الزَّكَاةِ، وَصِيَامُ رَمَضَانَ، وَحَجُّ الْبَيْتِ " (٤)، ،
Translation
English translation
Tawoos narrates that a man asked Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) why he no longer participates in jihad. He replied: "I heard the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) say that Islam is built upon five things: bearing witness that there is no deity except Allah, establishing prayer, giving zakat, performing Hajj of the House of Allah, and fasting in Ramadan."
