Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) observed several fasts continuously in the month of Ramadan with only one pre-dawn meal (suhoor). The people also did the same. The Prophet (ﷺ) forbade them from doing so. They said, "You are forbidding us from fasting continuously for several days, but you yourself are doing it?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "I am not like you. I am given food and drink by Allah."
