Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَبْصَرَ نُخَامَةً فِي قِبْلَةِ، ، الْمَسْجِدِ فَحَتَّهَا بِيَدِهِ، ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ عَلَى النَّاسِ فَتَغَيَّظَ عَلَيْهِمْ ثُمَّ قَالَ: " إِنَّ اللهَ تَعَالَى تِلْقَاءَ وَجْهِ أَحَدِكُمْ فِي صَلَاتِهِ، فَلَا يَتَنَخَّمَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ قِبَلَ وَجْهِهِ فِي صَلَاتِهِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) saw phlegm stuck towards the qiblah in the mosque. The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) stood up and cleaned it, then turned towards the people and, being displeased with them, said: "When any one of you is in prayer, Allah is in front of his face, so none of you should clean his nose in front of his face during his prayer."
