حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ، حَدَّثَنِي عُقَيْلُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، أَنَّ سَالِمَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ كَانَ يَمْشِي بَيْنَ يَدَيِ الْجِنَازَةِ، " وَأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَمْشِي بَيْنَ يَدَيْهَا "، وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ، وَعُثْمَانُ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمْ (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he used to walk in front of the funeral procession and used to say that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) and the three Caliphs also used to walk in front of the funeral procession.
