Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the Prophet (ﷺ) was on a journey or a military expedition and night would fall, he would supplicate: "O earth, my Lord and your Lord is Allah. I seek refuge in Allah from your evil, the evil within you, the evil of what has been created in you, and the evil of what walks upon you. I seek refuge in Allah from every lion and every black creature, from snakes and scorpions, from the evil of the people of the town, and from the evil of father and offspring."
