حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنْ صَالِحٍ، قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ: حَدَّثَنِي حَمْزَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " بَيْنَا أَنَا نَائِمٌ أُتِيتُ بِقَدَحِ لَبَنٍ فَشَرِبْتُ مِنْهُ حَتَّى إِنِّي لَأَرَى الرِّيَّ يَخْرُجُ (١) مِنْ أَطْرَافِي، فَأَعْطَيْتُ فَضْلِي عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ "، فَقَالَ مَنْ حَوْلَهُ: فَمَا أَوَّلْتَ ذَلِكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ: " الْعِلْمَ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he heard the Prophet (ﷺ) say: Once, in a dream, a bowl of milk was brought to me. I drank so much of it that milk began to come out from my fingernails. Then I gave the remainder to Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). Someone asked, "O Messenger of Allah! What interpretation did you give to this?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said: Knowledge.
