It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Prophet (ﷺ) had a ring made of gold. He would turn its stone towards the palm of his hand. People also had rings made, upon which the Prophet (ﷺ) threw it away. The people also took off and threw away their rings. Then the Prophet (ﷺ) had a ring made of silver. With it, the Prophet (ﷺ) would seal (letters), but he would not wear it.
