حَدَّثَنَا كَثِيرُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ بُرْقَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا الزُّهْرِيُّ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ،، ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " مَا حَقُّ امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ لَهُ مَالٌ يُوصَى فِيهِ، يَبِيتُ ثَلَاثًا إِلَّا وَوَصِيَّتُهُ عِنْدَهُ مَكْتُوبَةٌ " قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ فَمَا بِتُّ لَيْلَةً مُنْذُ سَمِعْتُهَا إِلَّا وَوَصِيَّتِي عِنْدِي مَكْتُوبَةٌ (١)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "It is not befitting for any person that three nights should pass without his will being written and kept with him." Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: "Since the day I heard this, there has not been a single night in which my will was not written and kept with me."
