Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ شُعَيْبِ بْنِ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، - فَذَكَرَ حَدِيثًا - وَقَالَ سَالِمٌ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَائِمًا عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ، ، يَقُولُ (١) : " اقْتُلُوا الْحَيَّاتِ، وَاقْتُلُوا ذَا الطُّفْيَتَيْنِ، وَالْأَبْتَرَ، فَإِنَّهُمَا يَلْتَمِسَانِ (٢) الْبَصَرَ، وَيُسْقِطَانِ الْحَبَلَ " (٣)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying from the pulpit: Kill snakes, especially those with two stripes and those with short tails, for they cause blindness and miscarriage.
