Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ، أَخْبَرَنِي مَالِكٌ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " مَنْ أَعْتَقَ شِرْكًا فِي عَبْدٍ، فَكَانَ لَهُ مَالٌ يَبْلُغُ ثَمَنَ الْعَبْدِ، فَإِنَّهُ يُقَوَّمُ عَلَيْهِ قِيمَةَ عَدْلٍ، فَيُعْطَى شُرَكَاؤُهُ حِصَصَهُمْ، وَعَتَقَ الْعَبْدُ عَلَيْهِ، وَإِلَّا فَقَدْ عَتَقَ مَا عَتَقَ " (٣)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Whoever frees his share of a slave, and he has enough wealth to cover the full price of the slave, then the value of the slave will be assessed, the other partners will be given the price of their shares, and the slave will be set free. Otherwise, only the portion that he has freed will remain freed."
