Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man came to the presence of the Messenger and said: "O Messenger of Allah! How many times should a servant be forgiven?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) remained silent. He asked the same question again, and the Prophet (peace be upon him) remained silent. Upon asking a third time, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "He should be forgiven seventy times a day."
