حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، حَدَّثَنَا حُصَيْنٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ نُمَيْرٍ أَبُو مِحْصَنٍ، عَنِ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ عَطِيَّةَ، حَدَّثَنِي سَالِمٌ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، " أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ يَوْمَ عِيدٍ، فَبَدَأَ فَصَلَّى بِلَا أَذَانٍ وَلَا إِقَامَةٍ ثُمَّ خَطَبَ " (٣)، ، قَالَ: وَحَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءٌ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ (١)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that on the day of Eid, the Prophet (ﷺ) went out, led the prayer before delivering the sermon, and did so without any call to prayer (adhan) or iqamah.
