حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ صُبَيْحٍ الْحَنَفِيِّ قَالَ: صَلَّيْتُ إِلَى جَنْبِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، فَوَضَعْتُ يَدِي عَلَى خَاصِرَتِي، فَضَرَبَ يَدَيَّ، فَلَمَّا صَلَّى قَالَ: " هَذَا الصَّلْبُ فِي الصَّلَاةِ وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَنْهَى عَنْهُ " (٣)،
Translation
English translation
Ziyad bin Subaih Hanafi (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once I was praying next to Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them). I placed my hand on my waist. When he saw this, he struck my hand. When he finished his prayer, he said: Such severity in prayer? The Prophet (ﷺ) used to forbid this.
