Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ آشْتَرِي الذَّهَبَ، ، بِالْفِضَّةِ، وِالْفِضَّةَ (١) بِالذَّهَبِ؟ قَالَ: " إِذَا أَخَذْتَ وَاحِدًا مِنْهُمَا بِالْآخَرِ، فَلَا يُفَارِقْكَ صَاحِبُكَ (٢) ، وَبَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَهُ لَبْسٌ " (٣)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once I asked the Prophet (ﷺ) about this issue: Can I buy gold in exchange for silver or silver in exchange for gold? The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "When you receive one of these two in exchange for the other, do not separate from your companion until there remains no transaction between you and him."
