حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " تَخْرُجُ نَارٌ مِنْ قِبَلِ حَضْرَمَوْتَ تَحْشُرُ النَّاسَ ". قَالَ: قُلْنَا: فَمَا تَأْمُرُنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ: " عَلَيْكُمْ بِالشَّامِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "A fire will emerge from Hadramaut (which is a region of Syria) and will drive the people forward." We asked: O Messenger of Allah! What do you command us to do at that time? He said: "Make the land of Syria obligatory upon yourselves (go there)."
