English translation

Ibn Abi Nu'm says that once, in my presence, a man asked Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) this question: If a person in the state of ihram kills a fly, what is the ruling? Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) asked him, "Where are you from?" He replied, "From Iraq." He said, "Amazing! Look at this—these people of Iraq come to me and ask about killing a fly, while they killed the grandson of the Prophet (ﷺ) without asking anyone, even though I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) say about his two grandsons that both of them are my sweet basil from this world."
