Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that on one occasion the Prophet (ﷺ) appointed Usama bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him) as the leader over some people. The people objected to his leadership. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "If you are objecting to his leadership, this is nothing new; before this, you also objected to his father's leadership. By Allah! He was worthy of leadership and was the most beloved to me among the people, and now this son of his is, after him, the most beloved to me. Therefore, accept my advice to treat him well, for he is your best companion."
