حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ،، ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ: رَأَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى عُمَرَ ثَوْبًا أَبْيَضَ، فَقَالَ: " أَجَدِيدٌ ثَوْبُكَ أَمْ غَسِيلٌ؟ " فَقَالَ: (١) فَلَا أَدْرِي مَا رَدَّ عَلَيْهِ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " الْبَسْ جَدِيدًا، وَعِشْ حَمِيدًا، وَمُتْ شَهِيدًا - أَظُنُّهُ قَالَ: - وَيَرْزُقُكَ اللهُ قُرَّةَ عَيْنٍ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Prophet (ﷺ) saw Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) wearing white clothes. The Prophet (ﷺ) asked him, "Are your clothes new or washed?" I do not remember what he replied to the Prophet (ﷺ), but the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Wear new clothes, live a praiseworthy life, and die the death of martyrs, and he also probably said: May Allah grant you the coolness of the eyes in this world and the Hereafter."
