حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ يَزْدَوَيْهِ، (٢) عَنْ يَعْفُرَ بْنِ رُوذِيٍّ، قَالَ: (٣) سَمِعْتُ عُبَيْدَ بْنَ عُمَيْرٍ، وَهُوَ يَقُصُّ يَقُولُ: يَقُولُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " مَثَلُ الْمُنَافِقِ كَمَثَلِ الشَّاةِ الرَّابِضَةِ بَيْنَ الْغَنَمَيْنِ " فَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ:، ، وَيْلَكُمْ، لَا تَكْذِبُوا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، (١) إِنَّمَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " مَثَلُ الْمُنَافِقِ كَمَثَلِ الشَّاةِ الْعَائِرَةِ بَيْنَ الْغَنَمَيْنِ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
Ya‘fur bin Ruzi (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once ‘Ubaid bin ‘Umair (may Allah be pleased with him) was giving a sermon. I heard him say that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "The example of a hypocrite is like that of a goat between two flocks." Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Alas, do not attribute incorrectly to the Prophet (ﷺ); the Prophet (ﷺ) used the word «غنمين» at this place instead of «ربيضين».
