Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، يَبْلُغُ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " لَوْ عَلِمَ النَّاسُ مَا فِي الْوَحْدَةِ، مَا أَعْلَمُ مَا سَرَى (٣) رَاكِبٌ بِلَيْلٍ وَحْدَهُ " (٤)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "If people knew the harm of traveling alone, then no one would travel alone at night."
