حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ أَتَشٍ، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ: خَرَجَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ يُرِيدُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَأَتَى عَلَى عُطَارِدٍ رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي تَمِيمٍ وَهُوَ يُقِيمُ حُلَّةً مِنْ حَرِيرٍ يَبِيعُهَا، فَأَتَى عُمَرُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، رَأَيْتُ عُطَارِدًا، ، يَبِيعُ حُلَّتَهُ (١) فَاشْتَرِيهَا تَلْبَسْهَا إِذَا أَتَاكَ وُفُودُ النَّاسِ، فَقَالَ: " إِنَّمَا يَلْبَسُ الْحَرِيرَ مَنْ لَا خَلَاقَ لَهُ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) set out with the intention of meeting the Prophet (ﷺ). On the way, he passed by a man from Banu Tamim named ‘Atard, who was selling a silk garment. He came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! I saw ‘Atard selling a silk garment. If you were to buy it, you could wear it in front of delegations." The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "This is worn by the one who has no share in the Hereafter."
