Translation
English translation
Jabalah says that Abdullah bin Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) used to give us dates to eat. In those days, people were facing extreme hardships. One day, we were eating dates when Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) passed by us and said, "Do not eat several dates at once, because the Prophet (ﷺ) forbade eating several dates at once without your brother’s permission." Imam Shu’bah (may Allah have mercy on him) says, "In my opinion, the statement about permission is the speech of Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both)."
