حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ: إِنَّ أَعْرَابِيًّا نَادَى رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: مَا تَرَى فِي هَذَا الضَّبِّ؟ فَقَالَ: " لَا آكُلُهُ وَلَا أُحَرِّمُهُ " (١)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a Bedouin man called out and asked the Prophet (ﷺ) about the lizard: "What is your opinion regarding it?" The Prophet (ﷺ) replied: "I neither eat it nor do I declare it unlawful."
