Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْأُمَوِيُّ، عَنْ يَحْيَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعِيدٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ، أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ أَخْبَرَهُمْ، أَنَّ جَارِيَةً كَانَتْ تَرْعَى لِآلِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ غَنَمًا لَهُمْ، وَأَنَّهَا خَافَتْ عَلَى شَاةٍ مِنَ الْغَنَمِ أَنْ تَمُوتَ، فَأَخَذَتْ حَجَرًا فَذَبَحَتْهَا بِهِ، وَأَنَّ ذَلِكَ ذُكِرَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " فَأَمَرَهُمْ بِأَكْلِهَا " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) had a slave girl who used to graze his goats at "Sala'", and one of those goats was about to die, so the slave girl took a sharp-edged stone and slaughtered the goat with it. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) permitted them to eat it.
