حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، سَمِعْتُ رَجُلًا، مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ مِنْ بَنِي سَلِمَةَ، يُحَدِّثُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ، أَنَّ جَارِيَةً لِكَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ كَانَتْ تَرْعَى غَنَمًا لَهُ بِسَلْعٍ، فَعَرَضَ لِشَاةٍ مِنْهَا فَخَافَتْ عَلَيْهَا، فَأَخَذَتْ لِخَافَةً مِنْ حَجَرٍ فَذَبَحَتْهَا بِهَا، فَسَأَلُوا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ " فَأَمَرَهُمْ بِأَكْلِهَا " (١)،
Translation
English translation
Nafi’ (may Allah have mercy on him) says: I heard a man from Banu Salamah narrating this hadith in the presence of Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both): Ka’b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) had a slave girl who used to graze his goats at “Sal’.” One of those goats was about to die, so the slave girl took a sharp-edged stone and slaughtered the goat with it. The people asked the Prophet (ﷺ) about its ruling, and the Prophet (ﷺ) permitted them to eat it.
